Lead your church to live out God's heart for the orphan

Orphan Sunday® is your opportunity to unite your congregation with churches across Zambia and around the world to care for orphans and vulnerable children in the name of Jesus.
Your Invitation

Every church has a role to serve the orphan

Every church in Zambia—large or small—has a part to play in caring for orphans. You don’t need a special program or a large budget to begin.=

You only need a heart willing to respond to God’s call.

For many believers, this may be the first time they have heard that caring for orphans is part of God’s command to His Church.

Through Orphan Sunday®, your church can discover what the Bible teaches about the orphan and begin living it out—showing that the orphan is not cursed or forgotten, but beloved by God and welcomed into His family through the Gospel of Christ. As the Church, we must not keep the orphan on the outside looking in. God’s heart is for every child to be part of His family, entirely accepted, valued, and included in the life of His Church. When we bring them close, we reveal the true love of our Father.

How Your Church Can Begin

1

Pray

Ask God to open your congregation’s heart to the orphan and to the fatherless.

2

Teach

Share what God’s Word says about the fatherless in your Sunday services.

3

Plan

Form an Orphan Sunday® team to help your church take practical steps.

4

Act

Host Orphan Sunday® and lead your members to care for orphans throughout the year. While Orphan Sunday Zambia is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of November, you can host Orphan Sunday® activities weekly, monthly, or quarterly, not just once a year.
